- Presentation:
Hawaii LNG Opportunity
Al Chee, Bill Hauhe, and Mark Hepburn
of ChevronTexaco gave a presentation on Hawai‘i’s
liquefied natural gas (LNG) opportunity. The proposed
project would convert three of HECO’s O’ahu
power plants (Kahe, Kalaeloa, and Waiau) from fuel oil
to LNG. The LNG could be supplied from ChevronTexaco’s
gas reserves in Australia. Local infrastructure requirements
would include a regasification terminal with pipelines
to the power plants.
- Forum Business
Mike Hamnett reported that our Energy Summit will probably
be in early December. Research is continuing in our subcommittees
on the topics of energy efficiency, cultural issues,
low-income issues, and military issues.
